Police ID remains found in vent in Durham convenience store

DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham investigators have identified remains found earlier this month in a vent at convenience store on Fayetteville Street.

Police said the remains are those of Kenneth Avery Smith, who was last seen on Sept. 3 and reported missing.

The remains were found Wednesday, Oct. 16 in a vent on the roof of the Town and Country convenience store at 3700 Fayetteville St.
