Attempted robbery reported on NC State's campus

RALEIGH, N.C. -

North Carolina State University police is investigating an attempted robbery on campus.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday. A male student was leaving Carmichael Gym on Cates Ave. and was approached by a male suspect who requested help. The victim followed the man into an area between Owen and Turlington Halls where they were joined by two other male suspects.

The three suspects demanded the student to hand over the bag he was carrying. The suspects then took the bag from the student, but dropped it before the suspects fled the area. Police said the suspects told the victim they had a weapon, but the victim did not see a weapon.

The suspects are all described as black males. One is described as being 6 feet 1 inches tall, 26 to 30 years old and wearing a navy hoodie and blue jeans.
