Operation Coming Home: ECU grad injured in Afghanistan gets keys to new house

Posted: Updated:
RALEIGH, N.C. - It’s a new start for a wounded warrior in Raleigh.

Army Ranger Nathan Rimpf received the keys to a new home Thursday.

The ECU grad lost both his legs when he stepped on an IED in Afghanistan in 2012.

He's the 6th recipient from "Operation Coming Home,” a project that builds houses for disabled combat veterans.

Nathan doesn't let the prosthetic legs slow him down. He actually just competed in the Army 10-miler in Washington D.C.

He tells 9 On Your Side that he'll be back in Greenville this weekend for ECU's homecoming.
