Deputies: Clayton grandmother drove drunk to pickup grandkids

CLAYTON, N.C. -

Johnston County authorities say a Clayton grandmother was drunk when she went to pick up her grandkids from school Wednesday.

Deputies pulled over Susan Eason Kepley, 57, Wednesday shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Barber Mill Road for swerving back and forth.

The sheriff's office said Kepley admitted to drinking wine at lunch. Deputies had Kepley take a breathalyzer, which registered a .37. North Carolina law states that anyone who registers at .08 or over is considered legally drunk.
