2nd man arrested in Durham after Nov. 6 murder

DURHAM, N.C. -

A second person has been arrested in the shooting death of a Durham man Nov. 6 on Morning Glory Avenue and Belt Street.

Durham Police announced Monday that Markecio Barker, 16, of Durham had been charged Monday afternoon with murder.

On Nov. 6, bicycle officers on patrol heard shots around 3:45 p.m. and found a man lying in the street.

Police identified the victim as Jevontez Deshawn Massey, 22, of Durham. Police said Massey was taken to the hospital where he later was pronounced dead.

Christopher Alexander Hicks, 21, was arrested and charged with murder in Massey's death. Hicks is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a stolen firearm.
