Suspect wanted in Deep Run meth lab bust captured

Posted: Updated:
DEEP RUN, N.C. - The suspect wanted in a meth lab investigation in Deep Run is behind bars.

35 year old Donald Robert Page III was arrested December 7 for manufacturing methamphetamine in Wayne County. He was located in a home in Wayne County. Page was booked into the Lenoir County Jail under a $250,000 bond.

It took place at a home on Tyndall Williams Drive. That’s in Deep Run.

Deputies say they received a tip that meth production was taking place at a residence on Tyndall Williams Drive on December 5.

Investigators executed a search warrant and found significant evidence outside that indicated that meth had been produced there recently. NC SBI was on the scene to take possession of any and all meth making materials and to dispose of them.

Jimmie Williams lives along Tyndall Williams Drive and says he saw emergency crews coming down the road Thursday morning. Williams say he learned about the meth lab through a neighbor.

"I don't know how they found out, but I'm glad they did; because, it's a terrible thing what it does to people. I'm very thankful that someone informed or someone did something that law enforcement found it out and are taking care of it," said Williams.

Neighbors say the landlord was renting the home out where the meth lab was discovered. 9 On Your Side reached out to the landlord who didn't want to comment, but said she was shocked.

“Meth production has been a growing problem in eastern North Carolina because it is easy to make, the products are readily available and cheap to buy, and the finished product is highly addictive.  For some home grown chemists meth production can be “self-correcting” in that they may make a mistake and cause an explosion.  This has occurred in Lenoir County on several occasions over the past few years."
