DURHAM, N.C. -

The lanes on N.C. 147 in Durham have been re-opened as of Friday afternoon.

The south-bound lanes of N.C. 147 between Ellis Road and Briggs Avenue closed just before 5 a.m. Friday.

A power pole snapped and crews are on scene to deal with live wires in the road. According to officials with Duke Progress Energy, a car clipped a cable TV line attached to one of the poles resulting in it toppling over.

The incident happened at 3:43 a.m. and 2,000 customers were affected by a power outage. About 500 customers had been restored by 7 a.m.
