HAMPTON, TN (WJHL) - The Carter County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who robbed a pharmacy in Hampton.

About 5:45 p.m. Monday, investigators say a man entered Hampton Pharmacy on Highway 321.

Sheriff Chris Mathes said that the narcotics stolen from Hampton Pharmacy Monday night have a street value of $30,000.

Mathes said a large quantity of narcotics were stolen, but he declined to say exactly what kind of drugs were taken.

According to witnesses, the man showed a gun, demanded drugs from pharmacist, ordered employees to the ground, and ran from the store.

The robber threatened to shoot people if he did not get the drugs he was seeking.

Some evidence was recovered from the scene, Mathes said.

If you have any information about this crime, call the Carter County Sheriff's Office at 423-542-1845.
