Raleigh DWI checking station nets 23 impaired drivers

RALEIGH, N.C. -

A multi-agency DWI checking station on Capital Blvd. resulted in numerous charges early Saturday morning.

The Raleigh Police Department coordinated the checkpoint which was conducted in the 4400 block of Capital Blvd.

The checking station, which ran from 12:30 a.m. to 3 a.m., resulted in:

  • 23 DWI charges
  • 12 Driving while license revoked charges
  • 11 No operator's license charges
  • 8 Other motor vehicle law violation charges
  • 5 Drug-violation charges
  • 2 Other criminal violation charges; and
  • 3 DWI related vehicle seizures

Law enforcement officers from the Apex Police Department, the Cary Police Department, the Fuquay-Varina Police Department, the Garner Police Department, the Holly Springs Police Department, the N.C. State University Police Department, the Raleigh Police Department, the Rolesville Police Department, the Wake County Sheriff's Office, and the Wake Forest Police Department participated.
