Rescuers dive into icy river to save family's dog

Posted: Updated:
WELLESLEY, MA - A dog falls through the ice and firefighters dive in to rescue her.

It happened in Wellesley, MA.  You can see the dog swim to her rescuers as five-year-old Crosby recognizes they are there to help.

Police say they received a frantic 911 call from Crosby's owner.

The dog had fallen through the ice on the Charles River.

She was trapped by the ice about 50 yards offshore.

Firefighters strapped on their special cold-water-survival suits and dove into the icy water.

After getting Crosby dry and getting her warm, she was reunited with her owner.
