GARNER, N.C. -

A student at Garner Magnet High School was arrested Friday after he set off a chemically-based explosion on campus.

Police said Andrew Garrett Eye, 18, of 1028 Bellewood Farms Road, Raleigh, used a mixture of chemicals to create an explosion in a two liter bottle, which was placed near a mobile classroom on campus.

Eye was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon of mass death and destruction and taken to the Wake County Jail.

Police said the explosion did not cause any damage and no one was hurt in the incident.

The school continued without any interruption, police said.

Eye did not intend to hurt anyone and is not affiliated with any groups or organizations, according to Garner police.
