The suspect in Alexis Murphy's case is now being charged with first degree murder.
A special grand jury indicted Randy Allen Taylor with first degree murder during the commission of abduction, abduction with intent to defile and another unrelated grad jury charge.
Commonwealth Attorney Anthony Martin announced the new charges Monday morning at the Nelson County Courthouse. He reminds the public the indictments mean the grand jury found enough probable cause exists for the charges, but Taylor is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Taylor will be in circuit court at 3 p.m. where he will be served the new indictments.
