Freezing temperatures are causing water break problems across the area. Tanglewood Mall, Roanoke's Rescue Mission, and the Wythe County Public Library are all dealing with water issues.

Some of the parking lot near Barnes and Noble and Kroger is iced over.
Mall leaders say no businesses have been affected.
A pip burst inside the Roanoke Rescue Mission Tuesday night and flooded several areas. Residents working to clean up water near the Women and Children's Center and the IT Department. There was 5 inches of standing water at one point.
The Wytheville, the Wythe County Public Library has been closed indefinitely because of overhead pipes freezing and then bursting.
Wythe County leaders say the bursting pipes flooded the building's children's section, offices, and bathrooms. An estimated 300-350 gallons of water is in the building.
The problems started Tuesday afternoon when the heat pump froze due to the extreme temperatures, forcing the device to enter into defrost mode.
Billy Bowers, Wythe County’s buildings and grounds maintenance supervisor, says that county employees are working to vacuum the ground water, as well as to repair other portions of the building that were damaged.
Anita Wood, branch manager of the Wythe County Public Library, says that the library has suffered major damages in the carpet and ceiling. Several books were also destroyed in the incident.
