RALEIGH, N.C. -

The North Carolina NAACP kicked off the Historic Thousand on Jones Street movement Wednesday.

Rev. William Barber and supporters held a news conference at Davie Street Presbyterian Church in Raleigh one month before the annual event.

"We've been coming. We've been challenging. We've been pushing and we've called Republicans and Democrats to accountability," Barber said.

The Moral March on Raleigh HKonJ People's Assembly is set for Feb 8. The NC NAACP said the march will start on South Street between Wilmington Street and Blount Street at 9:30 a.m.
