MIDDLESEX, N.C. -

A Middlesex man was arrested and charged in connection with a double shooting Saturday that left one man dead and another injured.

Jerome Bernard Neal, 29, of Middlesex, is charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a felon in connection with a double shooting Saturday night in Middlesex.

Johnston County deputies were dispatched to 370 Barnes Lake Road around 7:55 p.m. Saturday in response to a shooting. When they arrived, they found two male victims -- 18-year-old Darrick Hagans and 19-year-old Kwami Jones.

Hagans was pronounced dead at the scene and Jones was transported to Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

Neal is being held without bond in the Johnston County Jail.
