Cary reorganizes some town departments

Posted: Updated:
CARY, N.C. -

Visitors to Cary Town Hall at 316 N. Academy Street will find new locations for some of their business transactions and professional interactions as the town continues to restructure.

Changes to primary administrative offices and related staff within the north wing of Town Hall along N. Academy Street are as follows:

  • Facilities Design & Transportation Services – 2nd Floor, (919) 469-4030
  • Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources – 3rd Floor, (919) 469-4061
  • Planning – 1st Floor, (919) 469-4082
  • Water Resources – 2nd Floor, (919) 469-4030

Telephone numbers are, for the most part, staying the same. Updates to Town Hall signage as well as the Town's websites and other communications tools to reflect the Town's reorganization are occurring over the next several months.

Town manager Ben Shivar formally launched his reorganization effort in October to realign staff and departments into functional focus areas for increased internal efficiencies and better service to the Cary community, the city said.

He expects the organization to be operating under the new structure by the end of the winter, including the physical relocation of most of the staff associated with the changes; however, in cases where building modifications are needed, these will occur over the summer.
