DURHAM, N.C. -

Police in Durham have charged a man in a fatal shooting on Linwood Avenue near a local health center.

Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Linwood Ave. around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday for a "disturbance with a weapon" call.

When officers arrived, they found Antonio M. Dixon, 33, of Durham. Dixon was taken to a hospital where he was eventually pronounced dead.

Police took one male suspect into custody, but two other male suspects were last seen running toward Fayetteville Street.

Richard Lee Johnson, 36, of Durham was charged with murder. He is being held at the Durham County Jail under no bond, according to police.

He also is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Access to W.G. Pearson Magnet Middle School is limited because Fayetteville Street is closed by police.

The incident was first reported as a "shots fired" call near the Lincoln Community Health Center which is near the intersection of Fayetteville Street and Linwood Avenue.
