Food blogger and author Johanna Kramer gives us the skinny on upcoming Triangle foodie events.  Check out a detailed list below:

Bull City Food and Beer Experience Sunday March 9th at DPAC 4pm

Three local partners collaborate to create a true Bull City Experience! DPAC, Sam's Quik Shop, together with Tyler's Restaurant & Taproom founded the Bull City Food & Beer Experience to educate and stimulate your palate and mind through the pairing of local food showcasing 30 Durham restaurants and unbelievable beer from 30 premier craft / import breweries.

In addition to the food & beer pairings, guests will be able to enjoy an onstage experience featuring 20 Cask-Condition beers from breweries across the country, a sampling of Local Food Artisans brought to you by the Durham Farmer's Market and music by MIPSO.

This year's event will also feature a North Carolina Craft Beer Panel featuring Oscar Wong of Highland Brewery Co., Jamie Bartholomaus of Foothills Brewing, Sean Lily Wilson of Durham's own Fullsteam Brewery, Robert Poitras of Carolina Brewery and Ben Woodward of Haw River F

This event will help raise money for the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association. The mission of the Ellerbee Creek Watershed Association is to:

• Enable a living creek - a healthy stream in which an appropriately diverse group of native fish and invertebrate species thrive.

• Create a network of preserves and trails along which people can hike, bike, and walk from the Ellerbe Creek headwaters to Falls Lake.

• Partner with the City and other groups that seek to move Durham to become a regional model for proactive urban stormwater management.

Help adults, and especially kids, have the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate being outdoors in a learning and safe environment.armhouse Ales.

3rd Annual Raleigh Rare and Vintage Beer Tasting, January 25, 3-6pm at Seaboard Station

The Raleigh Rare & Vintage Beer Tasting was created to provide the beer enthusiast with the ultimate beer experience! We are providing 40 Rare and/or Vintage beers poured by brewery representatives in an intimate environment, allowing attendants the opportunity to learn what makes these beers special and those that brewed them.

Appetizers, bottled water and sodas are included in the ticket price. Attendance is limited and tickets will sell fast. A link to purchase tickets will be available on November 1 on this site.

A list of beers being brought by participating breweries can be found on the Breweries & Beers page.

100% of the net proceeds from ticket sales will be going towards the awareness missions of Toxic Free NC, and Pint for Prostates, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity founded by beer writer and prostate cancer survivor Rick Lyke. Last year we raised almost $13K and hope to raise much more this year!

US Coffee Championships. Jan 17-19 at The Cotton Room in Durham

Join Counter Culture Coffee & Dallis Bros. Coffee at The Cotton Room for 3 days of coffee competitions featuring top baristas in the region. Watch as Barista and Brewers Cup competitors battle it out for the regional titles. The stakes are high, which means that competitors train months in advance of competing by taking great care in selecting their coffees, brewing devices, music selection and perfecting their speeches in hopes of impressing the judges and securing the regional title.
