Doctors sue State over Medicaid payments

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. - North Carolina doctors filed a class action lawsuit today against the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

The doctors claim they lost millions of dollars in Medicaid reimbursements due to software errors in the roll-out of the state's new NCTracks Medicaid system.

DHHS Chief Information Officer Joe Cooper released a statement saying he wouldn't comment on pending litigation, but did include, "As with any implementation of an IT system of this size and complexity, teh transition has not been without challenges...DHHS continues to address provider issues as they arise and will not rest until every provider is fully transitioned to the new system."
