Winter Storm-2014 Forecast

Posted: Updated:
Subject to change(length of storm and accumulations):

Welcome winter storm 2014. From about Noon through 2PM EST we will see rain-sleet south and west and east of Columbus, then all sleet mixing in quickly changing all to snow. The best analysis shows this colder air mass in place for your morning, with freezing temperatures.

The overriding moisture riding along the southern branch of the jet stream behind the cold front will set the stage for this winter weather mix. Regardless of how this system will move and if it does exit out earlier this evening than by Midnight, we should still have up to 3” in many locations, perhaps more if this overriding moisture lingers past sunset.

We will  be clear easily by Wednesday morning; and we’ll need to watch out for weakened tree limbs, less traveled roads, and especially overpasses less traveled.

A cold forecast for two days before we warm up by the weekend, with 60s and chances of rainfall returning, with better chances Sunday.
