Bubba the Ram auction will be Friday in Rougemont

Posted: Updated:

Bubba the Ram, who ran free in the Triangle before being captured Dec. 10, will be auctioned Friday, the Durham Sheriff's Office said.

The auction is set for 10 a.m. at the Elodie Farms at 9522 Hampton Road in Rougemont.

The animal, which what some say is a rare breed of sheep called Barbados Mouflon, had amused workers in the Triangle and residents around Durham after random spottings began in August.

The Sheriff's Office said Bubba will be sold "as is," and the buyer is responsible for transportation of the animal.
