Cary software company gets massive investment

Posted: Updated:
CARY, N.C. -

Gov. Pat McCrory announced Monday that global equity firm Warburg Pincus is investing $100 million into the Cary-based company Dude Solutions.

Dude Solutions, a leading cloud-based software-as-a-service provider, plans to triple in size to more than 600 employees in five years. The company was founded in 1999.

Company CEO Kent Hudson says adding about 400 employees to its current 220 will mean jobs in software development, sales, marketing and customer service.

Hudson says the company is asking for no tax breaks or other incentives from state or local governments.  Dude Solutions instead is getting up to $100 million in investment from private equity firm Warburg Pincus.

The company will use the money to create jobs by hiring sales, marketing, and tech professionals.

Dude Solutions provides facilities management solutions to school districts, community colleges, universities and governments under the SchoolDude and FacilityDude brands.
