EDMOND, OK (WFLA) - The Pasco Sheriff's Office says two women found dead in a fatal house fire in Hudson on Monday were murdered and drugs played a role in the crime.

The victims were identified as Jessica Keith and Amber Lynn Jordan, both 24.  Deputies believe the fire was set to cover up the crime.

The early morning fire Monday morning quickly ripped through the second floor of the building where two women were living.  Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco says detectives need the public's help for part of their investigation.

"We're looking for a dark-colored vehicle. If anybody saw anything at this location at 7 am yesterday, or earlier, please send us a tip to the Pasco Sheriff's Office web site Facebook page," said the Sheriff.

Joshua Smith, a neighbor who tried to save the women, said knowing the women were murdered makes him nervous.

"This is strange to me that this happened right here in this area. Nothing like this happens right here. People know everybody around here, and everybody knows each other. Something like this to happen, is really scary," he said.

Smith suffered burns on his hand trying to rescue his neighbors.

Pasco investigators said they believe the two women were targeted following recent drug activity at the home.  They also say the fire did not destroy all the evidence that could link the individuals responsible to the crime scene.

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the unknown suspects in this case. If you have any information on this case please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS, report anonymously online at www.crimestopperstb.com.
