Durham man wanted for robbing dollar stores

DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham police are trying to locate a man said to have robbed two dollar stores in the past two weeks.

Anthony Tyrone Brown, 32, of Durham is charged with robbing Family Dollar at 5120 North Roxboro Street Jan. 18, police said.

Police said a suspect entered the store shortly before 6 p.m. and took a can of motor oil to the cashier. He demanded money and told the cashier he had a gun.

Brown is also charged with robbing Dollar Tree at 3823 Guess Road shortly before 7 p.m. Jan. 28, according to Durham police.  

Police said a suspect brought a pack of gum to the cashier. He then demanded money and threatened to shoot the cashier if she did not comply.

Brown is wanted on two charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon.
