College students roasting their way to an A+

DAVIS, C.A. - The University of California at Davis offers a course called Design of Coffee.

It's a class in the chemical engineering department.

Students take apart a coffee machine and then study the roasting, grinding and brewing process.

The class is graded on who makes the best coffee and how little energy they use doing it.
