FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. -

Some Wake County parents are taking to Facebook to complain the district's snow day make up policy is unfair.

Students in year-round schools were in class Saturday for the first of four shortened weekend make-up days.  Students were in class for the normal amount of instructional time, but lunch and recess were removed from the school day.

Students on traditional calendars will make up their school days on weekdays with normal, full schedules.

Ballentine Elementary School in Fuquay-Varina was one of the schools in session on Saturday.

The principal is calling it "Super Saturday."

"It's funny. One of the kids who left in the afternoon yesterday said, 'Oh! We have Saturday tomorrow.  Yes!'" Ballentine Principal Kim Short said.  "And the first thing he did this morning was he came to meet me and we did a little happy Saturday dance about how cool it is to be at school on a Saturday."

A complete list of Wake County's school make up days can be found here.
