GREENVILLE, N.C. - Police say they seized 7 guns and drugs from a Greenville apartment complex.

It happened Thursday around 1:30 a.m. at an apartment off of Copper Beech Way.

Officers responding to a shots fired call spotted a male running into one of the apartments. When they made contact with the occupants of the apartment, they noted a strong odor of marijuana.

After obtaining a search warrant, they found a total of six guns; two AK-47s, an AR-15, 270 Rifle, 12 gauge shotgun, and 20 gauge shotgun. They also found drug paraphernalia along with more than $5,000 in cash.

They charged 21-year-old Anthony Robert Johnnie and 20-year-old George Elias Alexander Jones with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Jones was also charged with resisting a public officer.

Both were placed in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1,000 secured bond.

The search also led officers to another apartment, where they found 68 Adderall pills, drug paraphernalia, marijuana and a 9mm handgun.

21-year-old Samuel Evan Simmons was charged with PWISD Schedule II, Maintain a Dwelling for Controlled Substance, Simple Possession, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was placed in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $5,000 bond.

Both Jones and Simmons are students enrolled at East Carolina University for the spring semester.

A nice firm handshake has long been a mark of good manners and elevated social skills, but it's also a very germy way to greet your fellow humans.
