Second arrest in case of 12-year-old girl sexually abused in Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. - There's been a second arrest in the sexual abuse case of a 12-year old girl in Auburn.

Mohamed Alyami, 21, was arrested Tuesday and charged with Sodomy and Sexual Abuse of a Child under 12.

On Monday, Auburn police arrested 29-year-old Nathan Childers in connection with the case and charged him with Rape and Sodomy.

Police say the assault happened Sunday at a residence off Wire Road while the child was in Childers' care. Childers is being held in the Lee County Detention Facility on a $150,000 bond.

The victim has been placed in foster care while the investigation continues.
