Fayetteville house damaged in Thursday night fire

The Fayetteville Fire Department is investigating a Thursday night house fire at 428 Perth St. in the Loch Lomond Subdivision.

It happened just after 10:45 p.m. in the single-story home.

Fayetteville authorities say they received several calls to 911about a loud boom and fire. Electrical power lines were down and damaged by the fire.

The homeowners and family members were able to get out of the home safely, but the home sustained extensive damage.

The fire spread to a neighboring house at 420 Perth St. Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading into the home, limiting the damage to the exterior and some smoke damage inside.

Fire officials have not said what started the fire.

The America Red Cross is assisting the family affected by the fire.
