Your community could win a $25,000 neighborhood improvement grant from State Farm.
Alabama residents can submit applications to win one of 40 $25,000 grants between March 3 and March 23.
In 2013, Roanoke City Schools in east Alabama won a grant to build a school garden.
State Farm says the third annual Neighborhood Assist program is lead by youth. It aims to help communities find areas they want to improve and in addition to the grant, it connects them with a local non-profit who can help.
After March 23, the State Farm Youth Advisory Board will choose the top 200 causes. Then, starting April 28, people can vote for their favorite cause up to 10 times a day until May 16.
The 40 winners will be announced May 27.
Applications must be submitted through the free State Farm Neighborhood Assist Facebook app. Voting will occur through the app as well. For more information, visit http://www.statefarm.com/neighborhoodassist.
