A shooting in a Fayetteville nightclub early Sunday sent three people to the hospital where a 17-year-old girl remains in critical condition, police said.

The Fayetteville Police Department said a physical disturbance inside of the Boom Boom Room night club at 106 S. Eastern Blvd. around 1 a.m. lead to Lorenzo Shepherd, 25, being ejected from the establishment.

Shepard was allowed back in the nightclub a short time later and became involved in another altercation with an unknown male, police said. The unknown male fired a gun inside the club, striking Shepard, police said.

The bullet exited Shepard's body and struck two other patrons in the club, authorities said.

Shenequa McMillian, 23, and Janielle Elliott, 17, were hit by the round, police said.

Shepard and Elliott were transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where Shepherd is listed in stable condition, police said.

Elliott remains in critical condition, according to police.

Police said McMillian received treatment at Southeastern Medical Center in Lumberton and is listed in stable condition.
