JAMESVILLE, NC -
Beaufort County Sheriff's deputies arrested Kacey Midgette of Jamesville on 11 counts of "obtaining a controlled substance by fraud."

The 33-year-old Midgette is a former Licensed Practical Nurse for a doctor's office in Washington County. She began calling in prescriptions for large quantities of hydrocodone for herself using the names of her friends. Midgette filled the prescriptions at two different pharmacies in Beaufort County. The 11 bogus prescriptions amounted to over 1,000 doses of the drug.

Midgette, who's also under investigation for similar charges in Martin and Washington Counties, is being held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on $11,000 secured bond.
