JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) -

Johnson City Police say a masked man tried to rob a local pharmacy by demanding prescription drugs from the business.

According to a Johnson City Police Department news release,  the man entered Bevins Pharmacy, 1301 N. Roan St. around 5 p.m. wearing a mask and sunglasses.

The man reportedly showed a handgun and demanded drugs from the clerk. When the clerk gave him the drugs, the man then left the store on foot, but was seen getting into a silver Dodge Dakota truck.

According to the report,  the man was captured on the pharmacy's video surveillance cameras and he was described as a white man around 6-feet-tall. He was seen on camera wearing blue jeans, an olive green colored jacket with a hood, dark colored shirt and shoes and a black mask and sunglasses.

The man weighs approximately 150-170 pounds and has brown hair.
