Cumberland deputies search for attempted robbery suspect

WADE, N.C. -

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is trying to identify a suspect who is wanted in connection with an attempted breaking and entering at a home in Wade.

Around 11 a.m. on Feb. 20, the suspect came arrived at a home located in the 6400 block of Smithfield Road in Wade.

The sheriff's office said the suspect was not able to get inside, but caused $500 in damages.

The homeowner, who was away at the time of the incident, was notified by a remote home security system. The system sent the home owner a photo of the suspect.

The suspect was believed to have been with two other people at the time of the incident. Authorities believe the other two people waiting for the suspect in a silver colored Chevrolet four-door sedan.

Anyone who can help identify the suspect is asked to call the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office at (910) 323-1500.
