Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. -

This week is North Carolina's Severe Weather Awareness Week.

9 On Your Side and Storm Team 9 is joining the National Weather Service in asking members of the community to "be a force of nature".

As spring approaches, we will soon start to see the warming of temperatures and with that transition season comes the threat of severe weather. The North Carolina branch of the National Weather Service has dedicated this week, March 2nd-8th, as Severe Weather Awareness Week.

With the theme of "Be a Force of Nature" the National Weather Service wishes to focus on several topics ranging from knowing your risk of what type of hazardous weather will impact where you live and work to how you can be involved in preparing and helping others prepare in the event of severe weather. Below are some resources to help you with your severe weather planning and safety education.
