FOUR OAKS, N.C. -

An elementary school in Johnston County is no longer on lockdown, the Johnston County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday.

Four Oaks Elementary School went on lockdown after police received a call shortly before 11 a.m. that someone saw a man with a gun in the area close to the school.

The school was placed on lockdown at 11:02 a.m. and police were on the scene investigating.

Shortly after noon, the school system confirmed that the lockdown at the elementary school was over.

Four Oaks Middle School was on lockdown earlier as well but that lockdown is also over.
