One dead after Columbus house fire

COLUMBUS, Ga. - One person has died after a Friday morning house fire in Columbus.

Responding fire officials found 956A Samson Avenue fully engulfed around 3:15 a.m.

The remains of Bobby Shabazz was found inside the home. His body is being sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations crime lab for an autopsy.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

This is Columbus' third fire fatality so far this year.
