St. Aug's will not furlough employees over spring break

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Saint Augustine's University will not furlough employees  March 9-15, 2014, President Dianne Boardley Suber announced Friday. 

Saint Augustine's had previously announced faculty and staff would be furloughed as a cost-cutting measure at the school.

In a statement, the school said furloughs made be necessary furlough "at a later time."

"The decision not to furlough employees, atthis time, should not be interpreted as an indication that the financialchallenges facing the University are over," the school said in a statement.
