FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

It's Regional Finals day in Fayetteville and we have plenty of teams from the east that are still alive. To no ones surprise the defending champs from Kinston booked their spot in the state championship game, but what is surprising is how dominant they were in doing so. The Vikings beat Northside Jacksonville in the 2A Regional Final 69-58.

Kinston star Brandon Ingram had 20 points and was named tournament MVP. Vikings point guard Andrew Lopez chipped in 22 points. UNC football commit Josh Cabrera scored a game-high 25 points in the loss.

In the 1A Regional Final it was East Carteret who continued their winning ways. The Mariners are an undefeated 31-0. They beat Wallace Rose-Hill 68-51. Jacque Brown led the way with 22 points while Sam Johnson chipped in 17 points.

On the girls side Riverside-Martin advanced to the state championship tonight. The undefeated Knights beat Rosewood in the 1A Girls Regional Final 75-48. Jayln Brown and Kayla Jones combined for over 40 points in the win.

Last but not least the West Craven girls lost today in the 3A Girls Regional Final. Jamie Cherry and the Eagles were up 6 going into the 4th quarter but couldn't hold on. West Craven loses to top-seed Chapel Hill 46-44. Jamie Cherry had a game-high 23 points.
