Judge denies bond reduction for mother charged in DWI death of daughter

NEW BERN, N.C. - A judge has denied a New Bern woman's request to have her bond reduced.

It happened Wednesday morning.

25-year-old Amber Sandvig is facing charges in the death of her 6-year-old daughter Alanna. Sandvig is accused of driving high on drugs when she crashed the car with her two children in the backseat.

Sandvig's attorney filed a motion to modify the bond, but the presiding judge held a hearing and then denied the motion.  Her bond remains at $2,000,000 secured.

Her next scheduled court date is May 2, 2014 in Craven County District Court.
