Posted: Updated:
WILLIAMSTON, N.C. - Deputies have arrested a woman for the illegal sale and distribution of controlled substances in the Bear Grass area of Martin County.

They charged Vickie May Thomas on Wednesday with Trafficking in Opium, Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sale or Deliver Marijuana (2 counts), Maintaining a Dwelling to Keep or Store Controlled Substances (2 counts), and Possession of a Firearm with Altered Serial Number.

Her arrest stems from an investigation into numerous complaints from concerned citizens.

Investigators say they made controlled purchases from Thomas and, in a search of her home, uncovered about 739 grams of marijuana, 101 dosage units of oxycodone, a Macrov handgun and assorted items of drug paraphernalia. The seized marijuana had an estimated street value of $4,000.00 and the seized oxycodone pills had an estimated street value of $500.00.

Additionally, they say the Macrov handgun was found to have an obliterated serial number.  It’s unknown if it’s stolen.

Thomas was placed under a $25,000 secured bond.
