30 evacuated after gas line damaged in Wake Forest

WAKE FOREST, N.C. - A contractor damaged a 3-inch gas link Friday afternoon in Wake Forest caused 30 people to be evacuated.

PSNC said the gas leak occurred around 3 p.m. on Harris Road and was shut off by 4 p.m.

Bill Crabtree with the Town of Wake Forest said 30 people were evacuated
and Harris Road was temporarily closed from Shapinsay Avenue to North Main Street after the leak was reported.

A PSNC repair crew responded to the scene and capped the leak by 4:15 p.m.

No fires or injuries were reported.
