A new restaurant in Durham brought some good economic news for job seekers in the Triangle, especially younger members of the work force.

PDQ in Durham opened its doors for the first time Sunday. The restaurant, which stands for People Dedicated to Quality, serves chicken tenders, salads and more.

The owner, Bob Basham said he's excited about bringing jobs to the Triangle.

"We interviewed over a thousand people," he said. "We hired 70 people. Some of them, it's their first job ever which is exciting for some of these kids. And it's an opportunity for some other people to get on the ground floor of a growing company."

There are three PDQ's in Raleigh and one in Fayetteville. The company is considering putting a PDQ in Winston-Salem and other locations throughout North Carolina.
