PINEHURST, N.C. -  Golf fans have lots of options for renting a home during the back-to-back U.S. Open and U.S. Women's Open in Pinehurst, but in some cases, they will need lots of money.

The Fayetteville Observer reports that hundreds of Moore County residents are renting out their homes to accommodate visitors, golf fans and golfers for the championships scheduled for Pinehurst No. 2 in June.

Those houses don't come cheap. Marcus Larose, a real estate agent with Sandhills Rentals, said it can cost an average of $10,000 to rent a home in the Pinehurst area for the week of the U.S. Open. One five-bedroom home in Pinehurst is going for $100,000 for both weeks.

Larose said rentals during the week of the U.S. Women's Open are going for $2,000 to $3,000.
