Raleigh stay-at-home mom picks Final Four teams

RALEIGH, N.C. -

The majority of college basketball fans had their brackets busted a while ago.

But one Raleigh stay-at-home mom is in the Top 10 among millions of Yahoo Sports' Tourney Pick'em entrants after she picked the Final Four teams and even the two teams battling for the National Championship.

Yahoo famously partnered with Quicken to offer $1 billion to the person who still had a perfect bracket at the end of this year's tournament. Those in Yahoo's Top 20 even take home $100,000

So why isn't Courtney Breeding laughing all the way to the bank?

The mom of three casually filled out her bracket on the website with the goal of just beating her husband for bragging rights.

She said she filled out her bracket "as fast as I could write them down," skipping one integral step that could have earned her $100,000.

"You had to do an extra little step," Breeding explained, "a Quicken registration."

Having picked the Final Four and even the UConn-Kentucky match up for the National Championship, Breeding is getting excited – but not because of the payday, because of the bragging rights.

While she doesn't have a big check coming from Yahoo, she was part of a smaller pool. And because she won that, a $250 donation will be made in her name to a child abuse prevention agency in Raleigh.

Not one of the millions who entered Yahoo's Billion Dollar Bracket Challenge this year made it through the Round of 64.

Of course, as they say, there's always next season.

"We have learned our lesson," Breeding laughed.
