Rocky Ridge Fire District holds promotional ceremony

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL - It was a big day for some fire personnel at the Rocky Ridge Fire District.

This morning seven people were honored for their hard work with promotions.

The Rocky Ridge Fire District was first established on September 12, 1967 covering a 12 square mile in Southeast Jefferson County.  The district serves about 15,000 residents under the leadership of Fire Chief John A. Lord.

The department’s growth and creation of a new District Commander position has paved the way for other workers to advance.

The following employees were promoted today:

  • Thomas J. Sizemore promoted to District Commander
  • Christopher B. Prosch promoted to District Commander
  • William M. Wright promoted to District Commander
  • Justin L. Baker promoted to Chief of Training
  • Jon Michael Lord promoted to Fire Lieutenant
  • Kyle L. Roy promoted to Fire Lieutenant
  • Michael F. Mays promoted to Fire Lieutenant
