Johnston Co. heart doctor found dead in home

CLAYTON, N.C. -

Clayton police said a 60-year-old doctor was found unresponsive in his home Thursday morning.

A neighbor called authorities for a wellness check on Kenneth Friedman in the Glen Laurel neighborhood, police said.

Friedman was pronounced dead in his home at 121 Townsend Drive after being found by police around 10 a.m., police said.

Clayton police said Friedman was a prominent heart doctor in Johnston County.

Police said foul play is not suspected and authorities will work to determine the cause of death.
