Update: Missing Fayetteville woman found dead near Sylacauga

Posted: Updated:
SYLACAUGA, AL - A woman that was reported missing from Fayetteville earlier this week has been found deceased in a wooded area.

The Talladega County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the body of Angela Whitworth, 51, was located near Sylacauga today.  Authorities say her body was found roughly 400 to 500 yards away from her vehicle near Wiregrass road.

Helicopter, K-9 units were all used to search for Whitworth.
Authorities say so far nothing indicates foul play being involved in this case. Whitworth’s body is being sent to Montgomery for an autopsy.

Whitworth of Fayetteville  was  last seen Tuesday when she told her family she was going to pick up transcripts at B.B. Comer Memorial School. She never arrived at the school.

Fred Davenport will have more on this story tonight at 10 p.m. on Alabama's 13 News.
