Former Pirate Chris Johnson Signs with Jets

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK - Former Pirate running back Chris Johnson has landed in New York.

Johnson signed a two year contract with the Jets today. Terms of the deal were not announced.

Buffalo, Miami and Atlanta all showed interest in Johnson, who visited the Jets on Tuesday and signed today.

Johnson ran for 2,006 yards in 2009 and is one of only six players to ever rush for over one thousand yards in each of his first six seasons. Those other five were Barry Sanders, Curtis Martin, LaDanian Tomlinson, Eric Dickerson and Corey Dillon.
