FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville police released photos of two persons of interest in the shooting of a 39-year-old man Wednesday at the Food Lion on Rose Hill Road.

Two unknown males approached Wendell Thomas while he sat in his vehicle in the parking lot around 3:45 p.m., police said. The two males were armed with handguns. Police said Thomas was shot as the males were on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

The unknown males were seen leaving the scene in a black sedan, police said.

Thomas was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
